Start-ups introduce themselves: “Mein Schlemmerdepot”

Jan 18, 2019

Daniel Kropp grew up on his parents’ farm and took over the farm’s butcher shop. In search of new business and supply models, he founded the start-up company “mein Schlemmerdepot” – an e-commerce solution for the regional food trade. At Hypermotion 2018, we met up with him for a video interview.

Daniel Kropp grew up on his parents’ farm and took over his family’s butcher shop. As a master butcher, he knows his customers want better availability and longer opening hours. However, this presents a major challenge, particularly for small rural businesses. ‘I was looking for solutions to be able to offer our customers fresh, high-quality goods anytime, anywhere, even across regional borders’, says Kropp. This is how “Mein Schlemmerdepot” came into being, a fully automated goods depot from which food ordered online or in stock can be picked up around the clock via drive through. Daniel Kropp makes this service with a virtual marketplace available to regional producers throughout Germany and thus provides a new sales opportunity, particularly for small and family businesses and craft businesses in rural regions. “mein Schlemmerdepot” won the start-up award from the House of Logistics & Mobility HOLM.
